The Chapel Chicks will be holding an encore event on June 11 at 11am in the Conference Room. Together we’ll watch Brene Brown’s Netflix special, “The Call to Courage,” a one-hour talk in which Brown discusses what it takes to choose courage over comfort in a culture defined by scarcity, fear and uncertainty. After the viewing, we’ll walk or drive to a nearby restaurant and enjoy lunch together.

Brené Brown is a research professor at the University of Houston Graduate College of Social Work. She has spent the past ten years studying vulnerability, courage, authenticity, and shame. She spent the first five years of her decade-long study focusing on shame and empathy, and is now using that work to explore a concept that she calls Wholeheartedness.
